      Born in Tokyo, 1982.
      Tomoya is the third generation in a family of urushi artists.
      He learned the foundations of urushi-ware making technique for three years at the studio of master artisan Kunie Komori, and he is currently working in Tokyo as both an artist and as a conservator of Japanese cultural property.
